Garret had his 4th birthday party this weekend. It is a little early since his birthday is not really until the 30th but Grandma Joanie and all of Kenny's family was in town so we decided to include them. The party was at the biggest park in D.C. and all the kids had a great time playing. We also made ice-cream in a bag (pioneer ice-cream) and it turned out to be everyone's favorite activity. Garret got lots of great gifts but his favorites were his own tape and his own glue. Happy Birthday Sweetie, We love you.

I Have Been Tagged!
I have never answered back to one of these things but because I was tagged by my amazing friend Ashley I decided I would give in. Here I go...
-What was I doing 10 years ago?
I was taking classes and strutting my stuff around the University of
Utah, working at Nordstroms and I had just caught the eye of a fabulous young man, Mike Smith, who I won over on the volleyball courts.
-5 things on my to do list:
1. organize my closets
2. get kids play room finished
3. pick a name for this baby before it enters the world
4. plan Garret's b-day party
5. LEARN CHINESE-MY BRAIN HURTS!!!
-5 snacks I enjoy:
1. Devil's food cookies- I eat the entire box every time.
2. celery and cream cheese
3. rocky road ice cream in a sugar cone
4. artichoke dipped in butter and salt
5. Chili's chips and Salsa
-5 places I have lived:
1. All over Utah (my real home)
2. Monterey, CA
3. San Angelo, TX (middle of no where)
4. Hawaii ( where I want to live for the rest of my life)
5. Washington DC area
-5 jobs I have had:
1. Server at The Oaks in Ogden Canyon (great food)
2. Health Rider store manager and demonstrator
3. Customer Service at a Two-way, Ham radio repair company
4. Retail at Nordstroms and Old Navy
5. Pre-school teacher (Never Again)
-5 things you may not know about me:
1. I am a huge Geology Nerd (rocks, volcanoes, etc.)
2. I have super anxiety about people being in my house if it is not clean
3. I would love to be a chef someday
4. I can't wait for my boys to start hunting so that I can go too and shoot my first deer
5. Although they fascinate me, I am scared to death of whales
So there I am all summed up; well OK maybe there is a little more to me but I now tag anyone who looks at my blog. If I can take 10 minutes to do this then anyone can!!

Look what we caught today!!!!
Today, Mike, Trent, Garret and Kenny went down to the river about one block from our house and were doing a little fishing when they stumbled across a Black Rat Snake. It was 5 feet long and everyone in the neighborhood was amazed. Many of the kids had never seen a snake up close and were a little afraid to touch it but as you can imagine, the four Smith Boys had no fear and handle the snake as much as possible. Good catch guys!

Cherry Blossom Festival
Last weekend began the annual Cherry Blossom Festival here in the D.C. area and we along with thousands of other people made our way down to the National Mall area to view the amazing spectacle. In 1912 Japan gave 3000 Japanese cherry trees to the United Sates as a token of friendship. The trees have been planted around Tidal Basin (near the Jefferson Monument.) The celebration takes place when the cherry blossoms are in peak bloom (about 2 weeks.) It was very beautiful to see the millions of soft pink blooms. It looked like a pink snow had fallen over D.C. We had Mike's brother Kenny with us and we all had a good time.
