Let it SNOW!!!!!

We finally said goodbye to our warm paradise home in Hawaii. When we arrived in Utah we were greeted with a wonderful and very freezing cold snow storm. It has taken our family a few days to adjust to the constant bundling up. Trent and Garret are really struggling with having to wear shoes and socks instead of bare feet and flip flops. Despite the cold we are having a wonderful time and we are so happy to be here with family enjoying a white Christmas season.

God protect our soldiers

This week we celebrated Veterans Day and there is no better time to honor those who have served or are now serving for our country. To all our friends who have just returned from Iraq, thank you and we are so glad to have you back. To those who are still there, God Speed. We think of you often. Be safe!!! And finally to our own soldier, Mike, thank you so much for the sacrifices and hard work you do everyday to provide a better future for our family and our country. We love you so much and are always happy to follow you where ever the army may take you. We love you daddy! (Picture is of Trent's Veterans Day Parade)

Fun with the Matthews Family

Our friends Chris and Angie Matthews brought their boys Drayben, Carter and Sammy out to visit us for a week. We spent almost every day at the beach, we did some night fishing and most of all we listened to Mike and Chris tell stories about the childhood. We had a blast with their family. Here are some pictures of our night fishing catches, cliff junping, playing in the sand and body surfing at Waimea Bay.

Our time in Hawaii is coming to an end and what better way to leave than with a Luau. Mike, Trent and Garret, along with a few other friends went to a farm and killed us a pig. OK, our friend Tafu really did the killing but Mike and boys helped pick it out. We then brought the pig back to our house and roasted it over a fire in our back woods. We had the Chris Matthews family staying with us and we also invited some of our close friends from the island. It was so00 much fun and a lot of hard work. It was a BBQ (Luau) that we will never forget. Thanks Tafu for all your help and for turning the pig for an hour and a half straight. We love Hawaii!

Labor Day Family Fun Fest

On Labor Day our stake had a Family Fun Fest and we had a blast. Some people in our ward own a carnival company so they set up rides, jump houses, slides and a climbing wall. They gave out hotdogs, shaved ice and cotton candy. It was a very hot and sticky day but we still played hard.

Trent received a very special award at school. He was the kindergarten Good Citizen for August. This is a student that is helpful and curtious. He completes all of his work and does it neatly. A Good Citizen is an all around great student for the month. Trent got to go up in front of the school and receive his award from the principal. After, they had a special lunch that Mike got to go to and they gave Trent some ice crema nd a pizza certificate. WAY TO GO TRENT!!!!!

Old time Cuties!

Our family went and had some fun dress up pictures taken. They all turned out so cute. The boys look great in their old time hats. Such a cute family.

Trent and Garret had a High School Musical 2 party the other night and we had all the neighborhood come over. They all loved the movie and filled their tummies with loads of junk food.

Our family just returned from a month long vacation to Utah and we loved every minute!! We have been very family hungry and so it was wonderful to spend lots of time with our families. We filled our time with rock climbing, hiking, swimming, fishing and hanging out at the Kolob cabin. Here are a few pictures of our fun.
