Could it Really Be!

I am going to the Dr. this morning to see if this baby will ever come out. I am 4 days overdue and luckily I have been having contractions all night. Keep your fingers crossed and stay tuned.

Still No Baby!

Just an update:
I am due in two days and I am not even having contractions. This little guys seems to be very happy snuggled up inside me. The Doctors are not willing to induce me and say that around 42 weeks they will look at that option. I really hope things happen before that. We are very anxious to meet the last little Smith boy and we will keep you all posted.

No Baby so we went to the Splash Pad

We hoped to be having a baby today but that didn't work out because I am not in any kind of labor, so instead the boys and I along with some friends, went to the splash pad to try and beat the heat. It has been sooooo hot here and the humidity makes it killer. Having buckets of water dumped on your head never felt so good. I was of course, the biggest mother playing with the kids in the water but I had a great time.

Our First Stiches!!!

I really can't believe that we made it this long without a visit to the emergency room for stitches, but on friday, Garret put and end to our stitch free run. He was chasing a butterfly and fell in the grass. Something sharp was hiding and off to the emergency room we went. Garret got two stitches in his arm and a tetanus shot. He was so tough and it has not stopped him one bit from climbing, wrestling and/or doing all the things he loves to do. Here's to our first stitch experience and we know there are many more to come.

Our week in Review!

We of course went and saw the fireworks for the 4th. The boys were very nervous about the loud bang that the fireworks would make but they soon got over that when they saw how great it was to lay right under the fireworks as they exploded. I think that is the only way to, watch fireworks. You have to be right under them.

We also went on a little history tour of our little city Alexandria, guided by myself. The little white house in the pictures was George Washington's townhouse when he would come in to D.C. for business and couldn't make it back to Mt. Vernon. The skinny blue house is one of the narrowest homes in the Unites states at only 7 feet wide (It is called the Spite House). Finally, the Church is called Chirst's Church and it is where George Washington, Ben Franklin and many others including many American Presidents attended church services. You can go and sit in George Washington's pew if you'd like. The tomb stones outside the church are all broken and blackened because civil war soldiers made camp in the cemetery and would make fires in front of the stones to heat them up and then cook their bread on them. They also moved them all around as a joke so no one knows who is really buried where. It is very cool. Finally, this week we thought we would try our hand at cooking restaurant style breakfasts. The boys and I love to get up early and go to McDonalds for Mcgriddles so we decided to make them ourselves. Also, we love to get doughnuts so we gave that a try also. All our attempts were successful and Trent, Garret and I had a great time cooking together. We had another fun week here at the Smith home and are counting down the days to our little brother's arrival.

God Bless America!!!

I didn't know it before we joined the military, but I am an extremely patriotic person. I am so grateful for this amazing country and for all the people who sacrifice so that we can have our freedom. This time of year makes me so proud to be a military wife and to have a husband along with so many good friends serving in the military.
I am particularly happy this year to be living here in Washington D.C. with so much American history around us. I drive by the the Pentagon, the Washington Monument and so many other amazing places everyday and I never get tired of seeing them. This is an amazing place to live.
I want to be sure to add a very special and sincere thank you to our friends: Ira Pula, Ben Zapien, Leigh Kennington, David Rees, Mike O'malley, Mark Gillman, BRian Prescot, Rick Roberson, Steve Smith and many others who have just returned, are now serving or who are preparing to leave to Iraq and/or on ships. Thanks so much and may God always protect you and you families.

Happy 4th of July and God Bless America!!!!
