God protect our soldiers

This week we celebrated Veterans Day and there is no better time to honor those who have served or are now serving for our country. To all our friends who have just returned from Iraq, thank you and we are so glad to have you back. To those who are still there, God Speed. We think of you often. Be safe!!! And finally to our own soldier, Mike, thank you so much for the sacrifices and hard work you do everyday to provide a better future for our family and our country. We love you so much and are always happy to follow you where ever the army may take you. We love you daddy! (Picture is of Trent's Veterans Day Parade)

Fun with the Matthews Family

Our friends Chris and Angie Matthews brought their boys Drayben, Carter and Sammy out to visit us for a week. We spent almost every day at the beach, we did some night fishing and most of all we listened to Mike and Chris tell stories about the childhood. We had a blast with their family. Here are some pictures of our night fishing catches, cliff junping, playing in the sand and body surfing at Waimea Bay.

Our time in Hawaii is coming to an end and what better way to leave than with a Luau. Mike, Trent and Garret, along with a few other friends went to a farm and killed us a pig. OK, our friend Tafu really did the killing but Mike and boys helped pick it out. We then brought the pig back to our house and roasted it over a fire in our back woods. We had the Chris Matthews family staying with us and we also invited some of our close friends from the island. It was so00 much fun and a lot of hard work. It was a BBQ (Luau) that we will never forget. Thanks Tafu for all your help and for turning the pig for an hour and a half straight. We love Hawaii!
