Last weekend began the annual Cherry Blossom Festival here in the D.C. area and we along with thousands of other people made our way down to the National Mall area to view the amazing spectacle. In 1912 Japan gave 3000 Japanese cherry trees to the United Sates as a token of friendship. The trees have been planted around Tidal Basin (near the Jefferson Monument.) The celebration takes place when the cherry blossoms are in peak bloom (about 2 weeks.) It was very beautiful to see the millions of soft pink blooms. It looked like a pink snow had fallen over D.C. We had Mike's brother Kenny with us and we all had a good time.

Lucky you! One of my favorite VA pastimes! Bri, you look so beautiful! We miss you guys!
Looks like a great time. I remember when Kirk and I travelled to D.C. to visit Shellie, but the cherry blossoms didn't open up until the day AFTER we left! Its fun to see Kenny hang out with your family. Bri - what a cute belly you have.
That would be an awesome sight to see. It looks like you are having a great time with Kenny there.
I've always wanted to see this in person! You guys look great!
I wish we could visit you in D.C. We've been there several times; it's one of our most favorite places to visit. What a cute family you guys have!
